The Health Care Authority announces the success of the first pacemaker installation in Aswan

The General Authority for Health Care announced the success of the first pacemaker installation within the Authority’s facilities in Aswan Governorate, in a new medical achievement that reflects the progress in providing accurate and advanced specialized services to citizens in the governorates of Upper Egypt.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, confirmed that the operation comes within the framework of the Authority’s strategy to expand the scope of advanced specialized services in the governorates of Upper Egypt, in implementation of According to the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to provide integrated and fair medical services to all citizens throughout the Republic.

 

The head of the authority indicated that the operation was conducted inside the Nile Specialized Hospital in Aswan, one of the distinguished hospitals affiliated with the authority, which includes an elite group of consultants in various medical specialties, and is equipped with the latest diagnostic, treatment and intensive care equipment, making it a distinguished center for providing specialized medical services in the south. Egypt.

 

He added that the hospital has obtained initial accreditation from the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (GAHAR), and since its joining, it has provided more than 800,000 medical services, including examinations, diagnoses, surgeries, and emergency services, which reflects the development of performance and the continued improvement in the quality of health services provided to citizens.

 

The president stressed The authority said that the introduction of precise cardiac services, such as the installation of pacemakers, represents a new step in the expansion of high-level specialized services in Aswan Governorate, noting that the authority currently operates 9 hospitals in the governorate (Kom Ombo Central, Daraw Central, Al-Sabaia Central, Abu Simbel International, Aswan Oncology Center, Al-Masala Specialist, Ophthalmology Specialist, Aswan Specialist, and Nile Specialist), and that two more hospitals will be operated in the future, bringing the total number of hospitals to 11 hospitals to cover the needs of various specialties.

 

The Chairman of the Authority concluded his speech by stressing that the success of this operation represents a new qualitative leap in the Authority’s journey towards achieving clinical excellence in Upper Egypt, and consolidating the comprehensive health care model that places the citizen at the heart of the health care work system.

 

The Authority explained that the operation was performed on a 69-year-old patient, who was suffering from a severe slowdown in the heartbeat as a result of an interruption. The electrical plexus, which required the installation of a dual-chamber pacemaker, and the patient left the hospital in a stable and good condition.

 

The authority indicated that the operation was carried out by a specialized medical team, which included Professor Dr. Hassan Mahmoud, consultant heart and interventional catheterization, with the follow-up of Professor Dr. Mohamed Aliwa, consultant and head of the heart and interventional catheterization department, Dr. Mohamed Shatat, director of the Nile Specialized Hospital, and Dr. Al-Hassan. Abdul Qader, medical director at the hospital.

 

The latest medical technologies were used during the operation, stressing that this achievement reflects the efficiency of the hospital’s medical and nursing staff, and the level of advanced equipment in the cardiac units and critical departments within the Authority’s facilities in the governorate.
