Aboul Gheit discusses with the Chinese Foreign Minister the second Arab-Chinese summit scheduled for May 2026
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, stressed the depth and strength of historical relations between China and the Arab world, which have always been characterized by respect, mutual trust, and mutual support on issues of common concern, based on the principles of justice and international law, pointing to the steady development of Arab-Chinese relations since the establishment of the Arab-Chinese Cooperation Forum in 2004.

Aboul Gheit expressed appreciation for the "Global Governance Initiative" Recently announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping, which seeks to address the shortcomings of the global system and is of interest to Arab countries, stressing the importance of taking this initiative into consideration. In view of its expected contribution to building global peace and development.
During the meeting, the Chinese minister stressed his country’s great interest in hosting the second Arab-Chinese summit scheduled to be held in May 2026, indicating that it will be a historic and successful summit headed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the participation of Arab leaders, and that his country will work on coordination and good preparation with the Arab League to make the work of the upcoming summit a success.
