"Economy and tourism" Organizing an event to motivate German companies to invest in the Emirates

DUBAI, 19 November / WAM / The Ministry of Economy and Tourism organized a round table at Expo City Dubai, in the presence of a large group of Emirati and German businessmen, and a number of representatives of German companies, aimed at enhancing dialogue and exchanging views on the features of the next stage of economic and technological transformation, and motivating German companies to invest and expand in the Emirati markets in the sectors of the new economy, advanced manufacturing, smart transportation, digital economy, advanced industries, technology, and sustainable energy.
The event, which was chaired by His Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and His Excellency Dr. Christoph Bloss, Federal Government Coordinator for Maritime Economy and Tourism Affairs in Germany, also aimed to enable the Emirati and German business communities to discover promising investment opportunities in the two countries’ markets, and to enhance knowledge exchange and transfer of expertise, in a way that supports the levels of economic partnership and serves the two countries’ visions of transitioning towards sustainable economic models.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Saleh stressed that the Emirati-German relations represent a model of advanced strategic relations and distinguished economic partnership, thanks to the directives and vision of the leadership of the two countries, stressing the UAE’s keenness to strengthen economic cooperation with Germany in advanced and vital economic sectors, in line with the “We Are the Emirates 2031” vision for the country to become a global center for the new economy by the next decade.
He said that the round table represents a vital platform to enhance cooperation with our partners in Germany at the level of the government and private sectors, in light of the thriving economic relations between the two countries, which are witnessing rapid growth in areas of mutual interest, and contribute to exploring opportunities for economic integration, investment, and exchanging experiences in advanced and sustainable sectors, including the digital economy, technology, and entrepreneurship, in a way that enhances the process of sustainable economic development in the two countries.
The roundtable witnessed in-depth discussions on the role of innovation, smart governance, and digital technologies in reshaping industries and means of urban transportation and enhancing integration between different sectors.
The discussions also addressed the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and data-based solutions, especially since the two countries enjoy a distinct geographical location that qualifies them to explore ways to employ advanced manufacturing, integrated infrastructure, and smart city concepts to support sustainable growth and enhance economic competitiveness.
The roundtable focused on encouraging the establishment of tangible economic projects in the markets of the two countries, with the aim of enhancing the flow of bilateral investments and supporting economic and investment cooperation between the government and private sectors, thus contributing to consolidating the long-term strategic economic partnership between the UAE and Germany.
