President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, today, Wednesday, gave the signal to begin installing the containment structure for the first unit reactor at the Dabaa nuclear station, via video conference technology.
Dr. Sherif Helmy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nuclear Power Plants Authority, announced the readiness to install the pressure vessel for the first nuclear unit, asking the President and his Russian counterpart, Putin, to grant permission and give the start signal. In implementation.
The event of installing the containment structure for the first unit reactor at the Dabaa nuclear station coincides with the celebration of the fifth Egyptian Nuclear Energy Day, which falls on the nineteenth of November every year.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in his speech via video conference technology, confirmed that the Dabaa nuclear plant represents the fruits of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and Russia, an extension of joint projects.
President El-Sisi continued, saying: “Today, we are in an event to build the Dabaa nuclear plant, which are very important national projects of great value to To Egypt, it sends a clear message that we will continue to move forward despite the challenges facing us, thanks to those efforts and that will.”
He added: “Today we see that we have reached this historical event that reflects the truth that this cooperation is not just cooperation in political areas, but rather cooperation in real areas and projects that come to the benefit of the two peoples.”
President Sisi indicated that the wisdom of making these decisions gives Egypt the ability to obtain peaceful nuclear energy, which will guarantee a stable energy source, Even with various crises, including the rise in fuel prices, he stressed that Egypt today is playing an important role in this field, which contributes to development.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi said that the establishment of the Dabaa nuclear station and other activities and projects show interest in the importance of providing work for local cadres, and equipping Egyptian cadres in the field of energy and nuclear science, noting that the project has already secured thousands of job opportunities.
President El-Sisi expressed his thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin and everyone who participated and contributed. In producing and implementing this important project, he also expressed his thanks to the Egyptian and Russian engineers and workers, noting that we were able to achieve all of this thanks to the efforts they made to reach this step.
