The President of Tatarstan receives the Minister of Endowments
President Rustam Minnikhanov – President of the Republic of Tatarstan, received Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari – Minister of Endowments, in the presence of His Eminence Sheikh Kamil Samigoulin – Mufti of Tatarstan, His Eminence Sheikh Al-Islam Talaat Safa Taj al-Din – President of the Central Religious Council of Muslims of Russia, Dr. Amrullah Tungel – Mufti of Istanbul, and Professor Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Saadi – Professor of the Arabic Language at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at the University of Islamic Sciences in Jordan. Within the framework of the Minister’s official visit and his participation in the sixteenth international conference held by the Republic of Bashkortostan, entitled: “Ideals and Values of Islam: One Nation, Common Destiny,” in the period from 17 to 20 November 2025 AD. On the sidelines of the meeting, the President of Tatarstan, Sheikh al-Islam, His Eminence Mufti Talaat Safa Taj al-Din, head of the Central Religious Council for Muslims of Russia, awarded the Order of the Republic on the occasion of the forty-five year anniversary of his assuming the position of fatwa and religious council and his great services to his country, especially since the Sheikh of Islam was born on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, so his country has the right to be proud of him.
During the meeting, the Minister of Endowments conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah. Al-Sisi – President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to his brother, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, expressing his sincere wishes that peace and prosperity will prevail in the two honorable countries, and the rest of the countries of the world.
For his part, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan conveyed his sincere greetings to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi; Sending our best congratulations on the occasion of his birthday, and wishing His Excellency continued good health and success. The President of Tatarstan also expressed his great pride in the close and historical relations between the two countries. Stressing that evidence of its continuation is the meeting that brought together His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and His Excellency President Vladimir Putin via video conference technology today to celebrate the placement of the containment vessel for the nuclear reactor in Dabaa. This giant project stands as a strong witness to the strength and development of relations between the two countries.
The President of Tatarstan also praised Egypt’s stature and its established historical role in its regional and international environment, and the pillar of stability, development and enlightened thought it represents, praising the role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in spreading the moderate approach of Islam, consolidating the values of tolerance and coexistence, and the contributions of its graduates in spreading the values of moderation and confronting extremist thought, which reflects Al-Azhar’s global impact and its role in serving… Humanity.
The meeting discussed ways for the Ministry of Endowments to support the Bulgar Academy, and enhance scientific cooperation in the areas of spreading moderate thought, sponsoring joint training programs, and exchanging scientific publications.
