President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi delivered a speech today, Thursday, during the joint press conference with his South Korean counterpart, Lee Jae-myung.

His Excellency President Lee Jae-myung
President of the friendly Republic of Korea,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome His Excellency President Lee, on his first visit to Egypt, which comes within the framework of the common desire to advance relations between the two countries, and coincides with this year’s celebration of three decades since the launch of diplomatic relations between Egypt and the Republic of Korea, as we have witnessed throughout these years the development of relations of cooperation and friendship between the two countries, Based on mutual respect and support for peace, development and prosperity, to reach the level of comprehensive cooperative partnership.
Egyptian-Korean relations constitute a bridge of civilizational and cultural communication. They also present a model for economic cooperation, based on integration and maximizing mutual benefit, from the capabilities of the two countries and the energies of their people.
And based on this common ground; His Excellency President Lee discussed Today, all aspects of bilateral relations between Egypt and the Republic of Korea, especially in the field of economic cooperation, and the participation of Korean companies in many important projects in Egypt. I take this opportunity to invite them to enhance their business and expand their investments. I also invite new Korean companies to enter the Egyptian market and benefit from the promising opportunities it offers.
We agreed during the discussions on the importance of taking executive steps to launch more aspects of cooperation in various fields. It includes artificial intelligence, communications and information technology, especially since this field is cross-sectoral, and contributes to increasing productivity and expanding business in several fields, as well as encouraging the Korean business sector to launch factories for the production of petrochemicals, and benefiting from the technological capabilities of the Republic of Korea in this field, especially in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, as well as attracting Korean companies, specialized in the production of cars and shipbuilding, to enhance their presence in Egypt, and establishing more factories for this purpose, to benefit from the investment incentives, which the Egyptian government provides in this regard. Sectors.
We also addressed positively; A proposal to establish a Korean university specializing in science and technology in Egypt, in addition to studying the possibility of establishing Korean schools in Egypt, with the aim of transferring the educational experience and exchanging expertise, as we witnessed today the two countries signing two memorandums of understanding in the field of culture and education.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
On the other hand; Our discussions today also touched on international and regional issues of common interest, as we agreed on the necessity of promoting a global culture of peace and supporting stability in the Middle East and the Korean Peninsula, as well as the importance of intensifying global efforts to address current challenges. The most important of which is confronting terrorism, combating epidemics, addressing the negative effects of the climate change phenomenon, and adhering to the provisions of international law and the purposes of the United Nations Charter.
In this context, it was reviewed; Egypt’s efforts in connection with maintaining regional security and stability, which recently culminated in reaching a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, through the agreement that was signed at the “Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit”, on October 13, 2025, with a wide international presence. I explained to His Excellency President Lee, Egypt’s firm position, based on the importance of the two-state solution, in order to reach a lasting, comprehensive and just peace, indicating our aspiration for more countries to recognize the state. The Palestinian Authority, in order to support this path and our appreciation for the active Korean participation in the future, in the process of rebuilding the Gaza Strip.
In conclusion: I reiterate my welcome to His Excellency President Lee. In Cairo, we look forward to working together to achieve prosperity for our two friendly peoples, and to build on three decades of joint success. Before I give the floor to His Excellency the President, allow me to extend my greetings and appreciation to His Excellency the President during his first visit to Egypt and also for the very great political spirit and will to develop cooperation between the two countries.

The President stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen distinguished bilateral relations in all fields, especially the economic, investment and cultural fields, as well as in the field of education, praising the Korean development experience, and expressing Egypt’s aspiration to increase the volume of Korean companies’ business and investments in various priority sectors, especially communications. And information technology, the automobile industry, shipbuilding, artificial intelligence, petrochemicals and mining, with a focus on the localization of these industries within Egypt.
The President also highlighted the guarantees, investment incentives and competitive advantages provided by the Egyptian state to the Egyptian market.
For his part, President Lee Jae-myung expressed: He expressed his thanks to President Sisi for the warm reception, stressing his country’s keenness to develop cooperation with Egypt in all fields, whether at the level of government development relations or through the activity of Korean companies in the Egyptian market.
He also praised the achievements made by Egypt during the last decade, the most recent of which was the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The official spokesman added that the discussions also addressed regional issues of common interest, as Mr. President reviewed Egypt’s efforts to implement the ceasefire agreement. In Gaza and the relevant Security Council resolution, affirming Egypt’s firm position based on the two-state solution as the only way to achieve lasting peace and stability in the Middle East region.
In this context, the Korean President appreciated Egypt’s pivotal role in achieving peace and supporting stability in the Middle East, especially the efforts of Mr. President that led to stopping the war in the Gaza Strip and hosting the Sharm El-Sheikh peace summit, stressing his country’s support for the two-state solution and the relevant Egyptian efforts.
