"Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety" It provides its veterinary services at Al Dhafra Festival

ABU DHABI, 21st November / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority participates in the activities of the 19th session of the Al Dhafra Festival and provides logistical and therapeutic services to camel owners and livestock breeders in Mazayna Sweihan, Mazayna Razin, Mazayna Madinat Zayed and the final festival in Al Dhafra.

The Authority seeks to have an effective and purposeful presence in heritage and community events to enhance community awareness of good practices in the fields of food safety, agriculture and livestock, and to organize meetings with the leaders of these events to introduce them to the most important topics related to its fields of work, as part of its efforts aimed at protecting and empowering biosecurity systems and promoting the best practices related to that in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, which contributes to raising the efficiency of the breeding process, improving the productivity of animals and protecting them from potential epidemic diseases.

The Authority provides a mobile veterinary clinic for the festival’s activities and events, which includes a cadre of veterinary doctors and technicians, to ensure the safety of the participating camels and ensure that they are free of diseases. It also provides veterinary services to farm owners and breeders participating in the festival, including laboratory examinations and analyzes of animals, diagnosing medical conditions and prescribing appropriate medications for them.

The Authority provides a range of free veterinary services to participants within the livestock sector services, including therapeutic services, animal spraying, anti-external parasites, disinfectants, blood tests, surgical operations, and providing the necessary treatments.

Veterinarians and extension officers at the Authority also provide advice and guidance to breeders and introduce pavilion visitors to the best and latest international practices in the field of farm management, which includes herd health management, through vaccinating livestock and combating insects and parasites, and nutritional management by introducing the best practices of feeding animals with concentrated feed that contains the necessary elements and components during all stages of their growth and production.
