The Chinese Panjing Tower is lit in the name of Giza Governorate after its participation in the World Municipalities Summit

Deputy Governor of Giza, Hend Abdel Halim, confirmed that Giza Governorate’s participation in the World Municipalities Summit, hosted by the city of Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu Province in eastern China, culminated in the lighting of the Nanjing Ceramic Tower in the name of Giza Governorate as part of the official celebration.

This came during the participation of the Deputy Governor of Giza, on behalf of Engineer Adel Al-Najjar, Governor of Giza, in the 2025 Global Mayors Dialogue, where the events witnessed the lighting of the Nanjing Ceramic Tower in the name of Giza Governorate as part of the official celebration.

The Deputy Governor of Giza said that the dialogue, held under the slogan Civilizations Renewed on the Banks of the Yangtze River, brought together officials from ten cities from different countries of the world, including Egypt, Brunei, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Namibia, Malaysia, Mexico, and Nepal, in addition to cities from the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, with the aim of discussing the future of cities overlooking waterfronts. And the river.

She stressed that Giza’s participation in the international event constitutes an important opportunity to promote tourist destinations in the governorate, most notably the Grand Egyptian Museum, in addition to highlighting the investment opportunities available within the governorate.

The Deputy Governor explained that the activities included field visits to archaeological landmarks in the city of Nanjing to learn about the Chinese government’s efforts to protect cultural heritage and review successful experiences in this field.

The activities began with a celebration in the vicinity of the Nanjing Ceramic Tower, where the tower was illuminated with the names of the participating cities, including Giza Governorate, and the activities will continue until today, Friday.
