المملكة: Riyadh and Mecca top the list of empowerment… and 12,000 pilot projects for insurance beneficiaries


The Riyadh and Makkah regions topped the The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced that Riyadh had registered 16,739 empowered beneficiaries, followed by the Makkah region with a very small margin of registering 16,730 beneficiaries, which reflects the size of the great development movement in the two regions.

An exceptional achievement

The Ministry achieved an exceptional achievement in supporting entrepreneurship for security beneficiaries, as the “economic path” enabled about 12,467 citizens. And citizens are able to launch their own and small projects, bypassing the obstacles of financing and establishment.

The success of these 12,000 pioneering projects depends on an integrated package of financial and training support, and facilitating access to soft loans in strategic cooperation with the Social Development Bank, to ensure the sustainability and growth of these businesses.

At the level of the general indicator, the Ministry’s programs succeeded in empowering 77,568 beneficiaries until the end of the third quarter of this year, thus exceeding The target number was 74,376, a clear indication of the efficiency and speed of operational plans.

The Eastern Region ranked third nationally with 10,646 beneficiaries, while the rest of the numbers were effectively distributed across the northern border regions, Al-Jawf, Tabuk, Asir, Najran and Medina, to ensure comprehensive development for all parts of the Kingdom.

The “employment path” dominated the largest percentage of empowerment operations, where it was included 65,101 beneficiaries with real jobs in the labor market, resulting from precise matching processes between the qualifications of job seekers and the opportunities available in the public and private sectors.

In the training process, the number of qualified beneficiaries jumped to 21,137 beneficiaries, exceeding the estimated target of 19,446, which confirms the success of the training programs in bridging the skills gap and preparing national cadres for the requirements of the renewed market.

System of Partnerships Wide

The Ministry strengthened these numbers through a wide system of partnerships that included concluding 147 cooperation agreements with various parties, and implementing 629 workshops and specialized training courses to develop the personal and professional skills of the beneficiaries.

The Ministry organized 122 empowerment forums in various regions, which served as direct communication bridges to connect the beneficiaries with employers and funding sources, which contributed to accelerating the pace of economic and social integration of the target groups.

This embodies The achievements, especially growth in small projects, represent a strategic transformation consistent with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the culture of self-employment, improve the quality of life, and transform beneficiaries into active contributors to the domestic product.
