"National elections": Not taking into consideration Kamal El Dali’s request not to run in the elections

The Board of Directors of the National Elections Authority decided not to consider the request submitted to it by Muhammad Kamal Saeed Al-Dali, the candidate for the first district – Giza Division, to apologize for not running in the runoff round for the first stage of the House of Representatives elections, due to the request being submitted after the legally specified deadlines for waiving the candidacy.

The National Elections Authority stated – in a statement today, Sunday – that it had received the candidate Kamal Al-Dali’s request to apologize for not running in the runoff round for the first stage of the electoral process, on Tuesday. She added that the Board of Directors of the Authority, headed by Counselor Hazem Badawi, considered this application in its session held the day before yesterday, Friday, where it concluded by issuing a decision not to consider the application, in light of its submission to the Authority after the legally specified deadline for waiving candidacy, which was announced in the timetable for the electoral process, and then the candidate will continue with the runoff round scheduled to be held outside Egypt on the 1st and 2nd of next December, and inside it on the 3rd and 4th of the same month.
