We are close to reaching an agreement in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said yesterday evening, Tuesday, that an agreement on resolving the crisis in Ukraine is very close, stressing that the matter is not easy. He said in a speech during the traditional symbolic ceremony of the presidential pardon of two turkeys at the White House before Thanksgiving, which is celebrated in the United States this year on November 27. He added: “I think we are very close to the deal. We will find out. I thought this could be done faster.”

Earlier Tuesday, White House spokeswoman Carolyn Levitt confirmed that the United States had made tremendous progress toward reaching a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia.

She added: “There are some fine details that must be settled, and they are not intractable, but will require further talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States.”

Earlier on Tuesday, an American official told the network: ABC News The Ukrainian delegation officially agreed to the terms of the peace agreement with Russia proposed by the United States, specifying some details.

She pointed out ABC News The 28-point American peace plan, which was presented to Ukraine in Geneva, underwent fundamental amendments to become only 19 points, as sensitive points related to amnesty for acts committed during the war were deleted, in addition to canceling the proposed restrictions on the size of the Ukrainian army in the future.

Despite the initial approval, Vladimir Zelensky indicated in a speech on Monday night that more work was needed on the plan, which was amended over the weekend.
