US Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, announced that two members of National Guard opened fire in Washington, D.C., in what the White House described as "Tragic situation"

Rescue services reported that they provided first aid to three people who were injured by gunshot wounds.

While presidential spokeswoman Caroline Levitt said: "The White House is aware of this tragic situation and is monitoring it, and the President is being kept informed".
