The governor of West Virginia retracted his statement in which he announced that two National Guard members were killed after being shot on Wednesday near the White House, saying that he had received… "Conflicting reports" Regarding their health condition.
Patrick Morrissey, governor of the state from which the two members come, wrote in a post on the X platform: "We are currently receiving conflicting reports on the condition of two National Guard members, and we will update you on the situation when we have more complete information."
The official had previously announced that the two members had died from their wounds.

The suspect was arrested.
US President Donald Trump commented on the incident on the platform "Truth Social said, "The animal that shot two National Guard members, who were taken to two different hospitals and are in critical condition, is also seriously injured, but it will pay a very heavy price, no matter what."
Police in Washington announced the arrest of a suspect in the incident.
