Despite the booing whistles, Liverpool coach: I am not afraid of dismissal
Confirm Technical director of the English Dutch football team Liverpool Arnie Slott said that he still maintains the support of the club leadership and is not afraid of being dismissed despite the 4-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, and despite the booing whistles from the fans.
British news agency PA Media reported that while he may not be in immediate danger, the next two matches against West Ham next Sunday and Sunderland at home a week later have become very important.
Sloat said after Liverpool’s second major loss in Europe: “I feel safe, I’m fine. I have a lot of support from the officials.”
He added: “Of course, it would be nice to turn things around and win, but if you are not doing well, naturally the questions start.”
He stressed: “My position is fine. This is not the first time I have been in a difficult situation, but it depends on when we turn things around.”
He continued: “I don’t feel anxious. What I mean by this is that my focus is on other things away from my position. I need to do a better job, and this is what I try to do every day.”
Thousands of fans left the stands before the end, while booing whistles sounded amid clear frustration from the fans.
Liverpool lost 9 of the team’s 12 matches in all tournaments, making this the highest defeat record for the English club since January 1953.
Liverpool also lost 3 consecutive matches in all tournaments by a difference of 3 goals or more for the first time since December 1953.
Coach Arne Slott’s team conceded 3 or more goals in 3 consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since September 1992.
