“Triangles and squares” are behind the five-point win over Kalba

Shabab Al-Ahly coach, Portuguese Paulo Sousa, expressed his great happiness with the broad victory achieved by his team over Kalba with a score of 5-1 the day before yesterday in the 19th round of the professional league, stressing that the victory with a large score confirms the offensive strength of the team, noting that the players played a strong match from a tactical and offensive standpoint, and succeeded in implementing the plan drawn up as required.

He told Emirates Al-Youm: “The match was not easy despite the big result, and the Kalba team is one of the teams that often impose difficulties on Al-Ahly youth in previous confrontations.”

He added: “I am happy with the great result the team achieved against an opponent that always makes our task difficult in matches. We entered the match in the manner that was agreed upon from a tactical standpoint, and the players succeeded in implementing the instructions, whether in the first or second half.”

He continued: “We entered the first half in the offensive manner we had planned, and we relied on group movements and playing with technical triangles and squares, in addition to shots on goal, which gave us a clear advantage.”

Shabab Al-Ahly coach added: “In the second half, the players entered with the same spirit and ambition, and the team continued the offensive pressure, which confirmed the great victory and the good way the team appeared during the match.”

Paulo Souza said: “We faced some difficulties during periods of the match due to the opponent’s reliance on counterattacks, but the players dealt with them well, and we succeeded in controlling the course of the game. We did not have to quickly come out from behind, but rather we tried to build attacks in an organized manner, and the players succeeded in presenting a good match from a technical standpoint.”

The Shabab Al-Ahly coach continued: “We created many opportunities and succeeded in scoring several goals, and this confirms that the team has the ability to create opportunities and score in any match. The productive ball was distinctive, and we had clear vertical play towards the opponent’s goal, and it was possible to come out with a result greater than the match ended.”
