The National Archives and Library participates in "Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition" With the eye

Al Ain, November 28 / WAM / The National Archives and the National Library, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police General Command, represented by the “Police Legacy”, participate in the first edition of the International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition in Al Ain, whose activities continue under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain region.
The participation of the Archives and the National Library comes through an integrated platform full of dozens of historical photos and documentaries that reflect the UAE’s interest in hunting and equestrianism, and document the practice of their Highnesses the Sheikhs of traditional sports such as falconry and horse and camel racing, following the approach of the founding leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan – may God rest his soul – who paid great attention to the ancient Emirati heritage, and was keen to consolidate the values of authenticity and preserve it. Cultural heritage in parallel with the process of construction and development.
Through this participation, the National Archives and the National Library seek to highlight the historical dimension of hunting and equestrian sports and their contributions to shaping the national cultural identity, enhance awareness among successive generations of the importance of preserving and transmitting heritage, and celebrate the ancient Emirati legacy in this field.
The National Library and Archives platform attracted the attention of exhibition goers through the rare archival materials it displayed, which included historical photos of hunting trips and horse races inside and outside the country, in addition to models of traditional hunting weapons used by the sheikhs of the Emirates on their travels.
The platform also displayed the most prominent publications of the National Archives and Library related to hunting and equestrianism, in addition to documentary films documenting some of the hunting trips undertaken by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
The platform received a wide response from dignitaries and visitors to the exhibition, who praised the value of the displayed materials and their role in enhancing awareness of the authentic Emirati heritage.
