A surprise in the salon…the manager and 5 women working illegally

A joint inspection campaign on one of the women’s salons in Dubai resulted in the discovery of a series of violations related to work and residency, after the competent authorities arrested five female workers working inside the facility without obtaining official work permits, in addition to the owner of the facility, whom investigations revealed was also violating, but in a different way.

Investigations revealed that all the workers entered the country on visit visas, and that two of them continued to remain in the country after their visas expired without renewing or paying the prescribed fines, while the visas of the rest were still valid, but they were working for themselves illegally..

The campaign also revealed that the owner of the salon herself resides with a work permit in another facility, and did not work for her sponsor at all, but rather managed the facility on her own account for a year and a half, and employed the five female workers even though they were not under her sponsorship, and without obtaining any work permits or adhering to the conditions for transferring sponsorship..

All the accused confessed during the Public Prosecution’s investigations, and they also confirmed their statements during their presentation via video communication before the court..

The court ended up punishing all the workers with a fine for the charge of working without a permit, ruling that two of them be imprisoned for one month or an alternative fine due to illegal residency, in addition to their deportation from the state. It also ruled that the owner of the facility be fined fifty thousand dirhams for employing workers without her sponsorship, with the fine multiplying by the number of workers..
