The Muslim Council of Elders calls on the international community to take decisive steps to end the suffering of the Palestinian people
The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, renewed its full solidarity with the Palestinian people who have been suffering for more than seven decades, calling on the international community to take urgent and decisive steps to support the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people, and to recognize their legitimate right to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
The Council of Muslim Elders said, in a statement. On the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, which falls on the twenty-ninth of November every year, the Palestinian issue will remain a just and central issue in the Arab, Islamic and humanitarian conscience, stressing the importance of mobilizing and strengthening regional and international efforts to revive the path of a just and comprehensive peace that puts an end to the continuing suffering of the Palestinian people and establishes a future of justice, coexistence and stability in the region and the world.
The Council of Muslim Elders stressed the need for the international community to bear its moral and humanitarian responsibilities. And legal obligations towards the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, and work to stop all violations against innocent civilians, and work to complete the stages of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and ensure the arrival of humanitarian and relief aid to those affected by the aggression, and accelerate the implementation of reconstruction plans.
In conclusion, the Council of Muslim Elders affirms that solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian people and supporting their legitimate rights It represents a religious, moral and humanitarian duty, praising at the same time all relief initiatives aimed at supporting the rights of the Palestinian people and alleviating their human suffering, and all efforts seeking to enhance global awareness of the Palestinian issue, and consolidating the values of dialogue, peace and human coexistence.
