Minister "Planning" and"Justice" They witness the honoring of female judges and judges who are graduates of training "Leading change in dynamic organizations"

Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation, and Counselor Adnan Fanjiri, Minister of Justice, witnessed a ceremony honoring female and male judges who graduated from the training program “Leading Change in Dynamic Organizations,” in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi regarding the preparation and qualification of judicial cadres, and within the framework of the activities of the Judicial Governance Project implemented in accordance with joint cooperation between the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Justice.

 The training program was implemented in cooperation between the Executive Education Unit at the College of Business and the School of International Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in Cairo, in cooperation with the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development.

Dr. Sherifa Sharif, Executive Director of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, Dr. Sherif Kamel, Dean of the Onsi Sawiris School of Business at the American University in Cairo, and Dr. Noha El-Makkawi, Dean of the College of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the American University, participated in the event. In Cairo, and a number of leaders.

In her speech, Dr. Rania Al-Mashat affirmed her appreciation to the American University in Cairo for its efforts in organizing and hosting the event, praising the important role that academic partnerships play in supporting specialized training programs and capacity building. She also thanked in particular Counselor Adnan Fanjari, Minister of Justice, male and female judges from various judicial bodies, and the success partners present.

The Minister added that the implementation of this program comes as part of an integrated series. Among the activities and training courses within the framework of existing cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, within the project to support and enhance the principles of good governance and management in the judicial system, which is implemented by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development in partnership with an elite group of prestigious training and academic institutions, most notably the American University in Cairo, which reflects the Ministry’s commitment to improving the capabilities of judicial cadres in accordance with best international practices and standards.

Al-Mashat explained that the judicial governance project comes in line with With the presidential mandates to raise Egypt’s ranking in indicators of governance, competitiveness and sustainable development, and in line with the state’s orientation towards consolidating the principles of governance and good management in its various institutions, she stressed that the ministry plays a pivotal role in the areas of governance, administrative development and capacity building, in a way that supports achieving the goals of Egypt’s Vision 2030. Judicial cadres are an essential part of developing the modern justice system that relies on data, knowledge, digital transformation, and the latest management methods.

Al-Mashat also stressed that modernizing the justice system represents a key element in deepening structural reforms, and that an effective and efficient judiciary is an essential pillar for economic growth and enhancing confidence between the state, the citizen, and the investor, which is reflected in the “national narrative for economic development.” Which was launched recently, and which emphasizes the centrality of the rule of law and the effectiveness of institutions in reducing the cost of doing business and achieving sustainable growth.

The Minister indicated that today’s meeting comes to honor the female judges and judges who graduated from the program, and to emphasize the importance of integration between ministries and various agencies in maximizing the use of human competencies, explaining that the efforts of the Ministry of Planning were in harmony with the efforts of the Ministry of Justice in supporting the governance of the judicial system, and the efforts of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development were integrated with the executive education units of the College of Business and the College of Business. International Affairs and Public Policy at the American University in implementing a program that combines theoretical knowledge and practical experience. ‏‎ Dr. Rania Al-Mashat explained that the project to support and enhance the principles of good governance and management in the judicial system comes in implementation of the presidential directives related to preparing and qualifying second- and third-grade cadres, and raising Egypt’s classification in international reports on governance, competitiveness and sustainable development, noting that the protocol regulating the project was signed in March 2022 under the presidency of the Council of Ministers in the presence of the Prime Minister and the Honorable Counselor and Minister of Justice. 

She stressed that the project aims to support reform efforts. Administrative, enhancing the effectiveness of public administration, improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and achieving comprehensive development of the judicial system based on the concepts of modern administration, efficient justice, and the rule of law, in line with the objectives of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the sixteenth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals. 38 female and male judges received an academic diploma in governance and anti-corruption, implemented intensive courses for presidents of courts of first instance, and organized 12 training events that benefited about 120 judicial cadres, in addition to sending 26 male and female judges for international training in the field of electronic governance.

She confirmed that these cadres have become an effective nucleus capable of supporting efforts to strengthen governance within the judicial system, spreading the culture of good administration, and using modern management tools and advanced technology, as well as Their participation in preparing policy papers and specialized research on issues of the judiciary and the administration of justice.

At the conclusion of her speech, Al-Mashat praised the tireless efforts of the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development in designing and implementing the project activities, and congratulated the female and male judges who graduated the training program, stressing her aspiration to achieve more successes in implementing the project activities in order to achieve its goals in supporting the progress and prosperity of the nation.

For his part, the Minister of Justice welcomed the attendees. Appreciating the effort made in graduating a new batch of members of judicial authorities and bodies, in a distinguished course that represents the fruit of constructive cooperation between the Ministry of Justice, the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, and the American University within the framework of a project to support and enhance the principles of governance and good management in the judicial system, stressing that the Egyptian state, under the guidance of the President, has paid special attention to developing the justice system based on a firm belief that justice is the protective bulwark and the closest pillar of stability. Society.

 

The Minister of Justice indicated that this course represents a new stage in the scientific construction of members of judicial agencies and bodies, which qualifies them for leadership and helps them understand the institutional structure and manage change in environments that require vigilance, analysis, and anticipation.        At the conclusion of his speech, the Minister of Justice congratulated the members of the judicial authorities and bodies for passing this advanced program, extending his thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Planning, the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development, and the American University in Cairo for the support and distinguished scientific partnership they provided, calling on God Almighty to grant success to everyone for the advancement of the justice system and the progress and glory of the nation.
