The Minister of Education stresses the safety of students in international and private schools with strict instructions

 The Minister of Education and Technical Education issued Circular No. 19 regarding mechanisms for maintaining the security and safety of students within private schools that implement international curricula, stressing the implementation of all measures to ensure a safe environment for students and workers alike.

 

The instructions included requiring schools to update surveillance camera systems to cover all spaces and classes without exception, and assigning more than one employee to monitor the cameras throughout the school day and immediately report any cases. Violations.

 

The book also stressed the conduct of drug tests for all school employees, including teachers, administrators, drivers, and auxiliary workers, and for any new employee before licensing or renewing the license.

The periodical book stressed the inclusion of awareness of maintaining physical safety within the annual training units for schools, with the participation of children, teachers, specialists, workers, and parents, in addition to launching awareness campaigns and activities for students about potential dangers, with a focus on Psychological education and the active participation of boards of trustees, parents, and teachers.

The Minister stressed preventing the presence of any maintenance or security personnel inside the school during the school day, preventing any bus from moving except in the presence of an approved supervisor, and requiring schools to have two female workers in each bathroom at least an hour before students arrive and after they leave. The Ministry also gave a period of two weeks to approve all school employees from educational departments with the submission of a criminal status report, and to approve foreign workers’ contracts and work permits, taking into account the employee supervision ratio of no less than 1:6.

The circular confirmed that students should not be received a quarter of an hour before the school queue time, and that the principal should not leave the school until after the last student has left, in addition to prohibiting the presence of any student in the kindergarten or primary stage without permanent supervision, and activating security records to monitor the entry of strangers, with an emphasis on continuous supervision in School roads and student movement.

The Minister stressed the follow-up of the implementation of these procedures periodically through the Ministry’s committees, and monitoring of any violations that may lead to the school being subjected to financial and administrative supervision and the imposition of the penalties stipulated in Ministerial Resolutions No. 420 and 422 of 2014, if any negligence or negligence on the part of the school administration is proven.
