Baghdad, December 3 / WAM / The Muslim Council of Elders is participating in the activities of the sixth session of the Iraq International Book Fair, which begins today and continues until December 13 in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
The Council’s pavilion offers more than 250 publications, including a collection of scientific and intellectual literature, books, and works, addressing the most important intellectual and cultural fields, working to correct misconceptions, spreading enlightened moderate thought, and promoting Islamic-Islamic dialogue.
The pavilion presents more than 20 books by His Eminence the Grand Imam, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar and Chairman of the Muslim Council of Elders, highlighting the tolerance of Islam and the richness of its intellectual and philosophical heritage, in addition to a group of important publications, and more than 25 new publications from “Al-Hukamas Publishing” during the year 2025.
The Council’s pavilion at the Iraq International Book Fair is organizing a series of distinguished seminars and lectures in which an elite group of senior thinkers, scholars and academics participate, as part of the continuing efforts of the Council of Muslim Elders to promote Islamic-Islamic dialogue, and in a practical application of the outcomes of the first edition of the Islamic-Islamic Dialogue Conference, which was held in Bahrain last February, and from which the “Call of the People of the Qibla” charter was issued in order to strengthen the unity of Muslims, reunite the nation, and unify its ranks.
These activities aim to discuss ways to enhance dialogue and understanding between all Islamic sects, the role of the media, women and youth, and the responsibility of scholars in building effective communication bridges that pave the way for a new phase of cooperation and unity among the various components of the nation, the common heritage between Islamic schools, and the call of the people of the Qibla as a common call for Muslim unity.
The pavilion also organizes a number of events, programs, and intellectual and cultural activities that meet the aspirations and needs of its visitors, including a special area for selling books and a special corner for children.
