platform "Youth for sustainability" Concludes its global guidance and counseling programme

Abu Dhabi, 4 December / WAM / The “Youth for Sustainability” platform, the global initiative launched by the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” and which aims to empower the next generation of sustainability leaders, announced the conclusion of the first session of the guidance and guidance program, which lasted for 20 weeks, with the participation of 25 trainees of future leaders from 11 countries.

The participants received guidance and guidance sessions, supervised by a group of prominent experts and executives representing a group of leading institutions, and aimed to enhance the skills of the young participants, help them set their professional goals, and enable them to contribute an active role and make a tangible impact.

The program brought together young trainees with experts and trainers from 14 different entities, including government agencies, companies and international universities, with the aim of deepening their understanding and knowledge of sustainability challenges and opportunities, and enhancing their role in leading positive change within their communities.

Both mentors and mentees met in periodic mentoring sessions to exchange ideas, help young people plan their careers, and develop their leadership capabilities in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainability strategies.

Dr. Lamia Nawaf Fawaz, Executive Director of Corporate Identity and Strategic Initiatives at Masdar, said: Our priority is to prepare future leaders who are able to chart their professional paths with a clear vision and goals, pointing out that the guidance and guidance program of the ‘Youth for Sustainability’ platform focuses on helping trainees determine their professional directions according to thoughtful foundations, and allows them to communicate with the most prominent decision makers, and provide them with the necessary tools and skills that enable them to lead the transformation in the field of sustainability.

For her part, Dana Al Kaabi, a graduate of the Class of 2025 from the “Future Sustainability Leaders” program, said that the mentoring program of the “Youth for Sustainability” platform played an important role in forming a clear vision about my professional path, explaining that the program helped her determine her direction, strengthened her self-confidence, and enabled her to adopt a way of thinking that would allow her to continue developing her capabilities on the personal and professional levels.

Participants in the program were attracted from different regions around the world, including the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Afghanistan, Iraq, Nigeria, the United States, Brazil, Yemen, India, Kazakhstan, and Syria.

The list of trainers included experts from prominent entities and companies, including Masdar, Siemens Energy, the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs, GE Vernova, Stellar, New York University Abu Dhabi, Al Futtaim, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the East African Carbon Markets Forum, ADNOC Group, the Hub71 platform, the IKEA Group in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt and Oman, Hilton Hotels and Resorts in Asia Pacific, the United Arab Emirates University, and E. Y Consulting.

Females represented 64% of the participants and 60% of the trainers and experts, which reflects the “Youth for Sustainability” platform’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and achieving gender balance in the field of sustainability.
