"Emergencies and crises"Volunteering in the UAE is an authentic humanitarian approach

Abu Dhabi, 5 December / WAM / His Excellency Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, Chairman of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, said that celebrating International Volunteer Day is an occasion that embodies the values of giving and belonging that have been instilled in the conscience of the people of the Emirates since its founding, and was consolidated by the vision of our wise leadership that made volunteering an established national culture and a daily practice that expresses the authenticity of the Emirati person and the spirit of responsibility that distinguishes him.
His Excellency added, in a speech on the occasion of International Volunteer Day, which falls on December 5 of each year, that volunteering in the UAE constitutes an authentic humanitarian approach, translated into national initiatives and institutions that seek to serve people wherever they are, as an extension of the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, who made giving and humanitarian work a pillar for building the nation and spreading goodness in the world.
He explained that within the framework of the emergency and crisis system, the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority attaches great importance to volunteers as they are one of the pillars of the community preparedness system and active partners in supporting the state’s efforts in confronting crises and emergencies.
He pointed out that through the national program for building specialized volunteer cadres, the Authority is working to prepare a generation of qualified volunteers with knowledge and experience, who are able to contribute effectively to enhancing community resilience and protecting the nation’s gains.
He said that what we see today in the commitment of volunteers and their constant readiness to serve their country is evidence of the depth of belonging and sincerity of loyalty to our leadership and our country. They embody the highest forms of humanitarian giving, and express the unity of purpose and destiny between the leadership and the people, citizens and residents, in order to protect the country and maintain its security and stability.
He expressed the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management’s pride in every male and female volunteer who made giving a mission and making national service a duty. We renew our pledge to move forward in establishing a culture of “voluntary community preparedness” that makes volunteering a pillar of sustainable security and stability in the UAE.
