FIFA awards Trump the Peace Prize for the first time in history during the World Cup draw

FIFA grants Presided over by Swiss Gianni Infantino, US President Donald Trump, the FIFA Peace Prize made its first appearance in the history of the federation, during the official ceremony held on the sidelines of the 2026 World Cup draw in Washington, DC.

The new award is an initiative launched by FIFA this year to honor personalities who contribute to supporting peace and rapprochement between peoples through sports, as the Federation’s Executive Council chose Trump to be the first to receive it.

Infantino confirmed during his speech that the launch of the award comes in A time when the world needs “messages of peace and unity,” noting that the first edition came in honor of “efforts, successes, and decisions that contributed to supporting stability in a period full of challenges.”

Trump received an official reception inside the ceremony hall, where he received the award amid a wide presence of FIFA officials, federation presidents, and international guests participating in the lottery ceremony.
