The National Basketball Association of Africa announces the winners of its second edition of the Continental Accelerator Program

The National Basketball Association in Africa announced the victory of five startups in the second edition of the African Tri-Double Acceleration Programme, which aims to support the development of technology and entrepreneurship on the African continent. Winners.

 

In the context of the results, the Egyptian presence emerged strongly after two Egyptian companies obtained advanced positions among the top three startup companies in Africa, which reflects the development of the sports technology sector in Egypt and its ability to compete at the continental level.

 

The winning companies will receive financial support and the opportunity to join a 12-month incubation program within the Innovation Center at Carnegie Mellon University – Africa, in addition to the top three companies receiving credit for using programming interfaces from the global artificial intelligence company, in addition to a full coexistence day with its engineering team inside its headquarters.

 

 

The results were announced during the final demo day event hosted by Carnegie Mellon University – Africa in the Rwandan capital, Kigali, in the presence of a jury that includes leaders from the university and international companies specialized in technology and digital services.

The program enjoys institutional support from several leading and technical bodies, while the LX Innovation Platform continues its role as the official operating partner of the program for the second year in a row.

 

Claire Akamanzi, CEO of the National Basketball Association in Africa, confirmed her appreciation for the advanced level presented by the companies. Participation, noting that the proposed innovations contribute to shaping the future of sports and entertainment on the continent, and that the support provided will enable emerging companies to expand and achieve a real and sustainable impact in Africa and the world.
