Egypt calls for the deployment of an international stabilization force in Gaza “as soon as possible”

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Ati called on Saturday for the rapid deployment of an international stabilization force stipulated in the second phase of the peace agreement in the Gaza Strip to monitor the ceasefire.

Abdel Ati said during the Doha Forum, “With regard to the International Stabilization Force, we need to deploy this force as quickly as possible on the ground because one of the parties, which is Israel, violates the ceasefire on a daily basis… so we need observers.”

He added that the Rafah land crossing between Egypt and Gaza “will not be a gateway for displacement, but only for flooding Gaza with humanitarian and medical aid.”
