The Women’s Triathlon World Cup kicks off in Dubai on Sunday

Competitions for the first edition of the Women’s Triathlon World Cup – Dubai 2025, the first of its kind in the world for women, will begin at 7:15 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, and are organized by the Dubai Sports Council as part of the Sheikha Hind Sports Initiative, within the framework of the Dubai Sports Plan 2033, and under the supervision of the International Triathlon Federation, and in cooperation with the UAE Triathlon Federation. Its competitions will be held on the Dubai Islands.

The race begins with the Super Sprint category for very short distances for beginners and individual age groups at 7:15 am, followed by the start of the team category at 7:18 am. The race includes a 400-meter swim, 10 km bike and 2.5 km run, while the short-distance sprint race for amateurs and individual age groups begins at 8:30 am, followed by the team category at 8:33 am. Participation in 750-meter swimming, 20-kilometre cycling, and 5-kilometre running.

The professional women’s race begins at 12:00 noon, in which the Olympic and world champions compete in a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometre cycling, and 5-kilometre run, with the crowning of the winners beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Among the most prominent international names participating in the tournament are the Rio Olympics champion, American Gwen Jorgensen, the Indonesian Valentina Ryasova, the Miyazaki Mixed Triathlon World Cup title holder, the Spaniards Noelia Juan and Alejandra Segui, and the world champion Hana Maksimava, the 2025 Aquathlon World Champion in Pontevedra, with strong participation of teams, most notably the UAE, Britain, the Philippines, Australia, South Africa and the United States. United States, Russia, Jordan and the Netherlands, along with female athletes from across Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa and the Americas.

The organizing committee has completed all preparations to host the elite Olympic and world champions who are participating in the professional category, in addition to participants in other categories of various nationalities from inside and outside the country, from the age of 18 years and above.

The Dubai Sports Channel will broadcast the event’s competitions live on its screens and on the official account of the International Triathlon Federation. The International Olympic Committee will also broadcast the professional women’s competitions through its channel, which is followed by millions from all continents of the world, giving the tournament a wide global presence and enhancing Dubai’s reputation as a leading international sports destination. Special stands have also been prepared for the public to follow the competitions closely on the beach of the Dubai Islands.
