The Ministry stressed that the shift to distance education in such cases does not cancel the requirements for behavioral discipline and does not reduce the students’ responsibilities towards their schools and teachers, stressing that the list of rules of conduct and attendance for general education students is applied in all its provisions in the virtual environment as it is applied in the virtual environment. In-person schools, ensuring the continuation of the educational process in a safe, healthy and disciplined atmosphere.
The Ministry indicated that among the most prominent Behavioral violationsin e-learning: being late for virtual classes, repeatedly leaving them without justification, and obstructing the course of the class through side conversations and aimless interruptions, in addition to misusing login information, photographing virtual classes without permission, or circulating any inappropriate content through educational platforms.
Gradual punishment
She explained that the code of conduct relies on the principle of gradualism in Punishmentsaccording to the type and frequency of the violation, as the procedures begin with a verbal warning, then notifying the guardian and taking an electronic pledge from the student not to repeat it, then deducting grades of positive behavior that may reach in some cases three grades, ten grades, or fifteen grades depending on the seriousness of the violation, in addition to referral to the student advisor, transferring the student to the student guidance committee, and developing a joint behavior modification plan between the school and the family, with continuous follow-up.The Ministry also confirmed that serious violations include electronic bullying and harassment via platforms. And insulting teachers or students, violating religious and national values, broadcasting or promoting extremist ideas, promoting drugs, and information crimes of various kinds, stressing that these cases are immediately reported to the competent security authorities after notifying the guardian and fully documenting the measures taken.
The Ministry of Education stressed that these measures and penalties come within the framework of its keenness to protect students healthily, psychologically, and behaviorally, and to ensure a safe and controlled educational environment, especially during periods of weather fluctuations. In which there is a lot of reliance on distance education, which requires raising the level of awareness, enhancing self-monitoring, and integrating the role of the family with the school in controlling behavior and continuous follow-up.
The Ministry stressed that the health and behavioral safety of students is a top priority, and that adherence to the rules of conduct and attendance is the guarantee of the continuity of distance education in a way that achieves educational goals and maintains values and discipline within the virtual school community.
