The Democratic Republic of the Congo has recorded more than (64) thousand cases of cholera, including about (2000) deaths, since the beginning of the current year 2025.

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) confirmed in a statement that the outbreak of Cholerain the Democratic Republic of the Congo has claimed the lives of (1,888) people, including (340) children, since the beginning of this year, describing the outbreak of this The disease, which is treatable and preventable, is considered the worst in 25 years, with the number of cases this year reaching (64,427) so far.

She indicated that 17 out of 26 provinces in the country were affected With this epidemic, including the capital, Kinshasa, indicating that conflicts, mass population displacement, natural disasters and climate change, especially in rural areas vulnerable to floods, which suffer from limited access to health care, led to the outbreak of the cholera epidemic.
