Russia’s delegate to the United Nations: We prefer to achieve our goals in Ukraine through diplomacy

The Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, said that his country prefers to end its military operation in Ukraine through the diplomatic track, despite continuing to achieve its goals on the ground.

Nebenzia explained, during a session of the UN Security Council on the Ukrainian crisis, according to what was reported by the Russian (TASS) news agency on Tuesday, that “the options available to achieve the objectives of the operation are the military or political track,” adding “His country naturally prefers a diplomatic solution.”

He pointed out that Moscow “currently does not see serious conditions for the success of this path,” due to what he described as “the activities of some hard-line European powers that undermine the chances of negotiation.”

Nebenzia warned that any direct military confrontation between Russia and countries “It will not be a limited conflict,” stressing that it may threaten “the future of the entire world.”
