A religious and spiritual evening for the contestants in the International Qur’an Competition at the Imam Hussein Mosque

Professor Dr. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Endowments, witnessed a religious evening at the Prophet Al-Hussein Mosque – may God be pleased with him – with the participation of a group of Malaysian muftis trained at the International Endowments Academy, a delegation of judges and contestants of the International Holy Quran Competition, and contestants of the State of Recitation, within the framework of the scientific and advocacy activities organized by the Ministry on the sidelines of the activities of the 32nd International Holy Quran Competition.

The evening began with recitations. Qur’anic poems for the State of Recitation contestants: Muhammad Muhammad Kamel, Muhammad Abd al-Mawjoud, Muhammad Ahmad Hassan, and Omar Ali. The audience also listened to a distinguished recitation by contestant Muhammad Zaki from Indonesia, one of the participants in the International Holy Quran Competition.

The evening included fragrant supplications by contestant Reda Muhammad, and then the contestants of the country of recitation took turns singing a number of selected verses.

Contestant Walid Salah Attiya also performed the call to prayer for the evening prayer, and contestant Omar Nasser led the prayer, while contestant Muhammad Wafiq Hassan led the worshipers. The evening continued after the prayer with spiritual supplications by vocalist Mustafa Atef, with the participation of the State of Recitation contestants, amid a joyful faith atmosphere filled with the reverence of recitation and the beauty of performance. Then the evening concluded with a blessed recitation by reader Ahmed Rashad, one of the State of Recitation contestants.

The attendees expressed great admiration for that pure spiritual atmosphere and those young Qur’anic talents, so they were assured that the Egyptian State of Recitation is still Authentic and born, and that its children are following the path of the pioneers in carrying the banner of recitation and reviving its ancient arts.

The evening was witnessed by: Sheikh Dr. Al-Sayyid Abdel Bari, Head of the Religious Sector at the Ministry of Endowments, Dr. Abdullah Hassan, Assistant Minister for Follow-up, Dr. Osama Raslan, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Endowments, Professor Mahmoud Al-Jalad, Assistant Minister for Media Affairs, Dr. Hisham Abdel Aziz, Head of the Ministry’s Political Communication Group, and Dr. Ahmed Nabawi Member of the Technical Office of the Minister of Endowments, and Dr. Khaled Salah, Director of the Cairo Endowments Directorate.
