The first Emirati-Russian Business Forum kicks off in Dubai

Dubai, December 10 / WAM / The “First Emirati-Russian Business Forum” was launched today in Dubai, which is one of the most prominent events on the economic agenda between the two countries.

The forum, which is scheduled to become an annual event, is organized by the Emirati-Russian Business Council, with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Marathon Investment Group.

The forum brings together leaders of major companies and investment funds from the UAE and Russia, along with representatives of the relevant ministries in both countries, in addition to emerging technology companies.

This event is being held as part of the twelfth meeting of the joint Russian-Emirati governmental committee concerned with trade, economic and technical cooperation.

This comes within the framework of the two countries’ keenness to strengthen their bilateral relations, as recent years have witnessed a significant growth in the volume of trade exchange between them, and joint projects have expanded to include a wide range of sectors, from industry, transportation, and logistics services, to agriculture, digital technologies, health care, and investments.

Cooperation between the two countries is witnessing an expansion in traditional sectors, in addition to innovative fields that require new mechanisms to strengthen the partnership.

The most important part of the forum is the plenary session entitled “Engineering Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries,” where Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Emirati-Russian Business Council, will review the Council’s strategy and tools aimed at activating the economic and trade potential between the UAE and Russia.

The session will focus on bilateral economic cooperation and practical mechanisms for developing joint projects between the two countries.

Participating in the plenary session are His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, His Excellency Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World Group, Vitaly Syrychuk, Board Member and Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at VTB Bank, and Alexander Jarov, CEO of Gazprom Media Holding. Forum Sergey Catherine, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The forum’s discussion panels will open with a session entitled: “The Innovation Path between Russia and the UAE: A New Phase of Technological Partnership,” with the participation of Sergey Zakharov, Partner at Marathon Investment Group, Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation, Mohammed Juma Al Musharrakh, CEO of Invest in Sharjah, Nabil Arnous, Commercial Executive Director of Innovation City, Dmitry Markov, CEO of Vision Labs, and Alexei Yuzakov, Chairman of the Board of Directors. Promobot, with the participation of Vyacheslav Kubaev once again as CTO of Magnitek, and Anastasia Stolkova, Member of the Public Health Committee of the Civil Chamber of the Russian Federation and Director of the RK-Medicine Foundation.

The session will witness the launch of the first accelerator program aimed at building an integrated system to support the growth of Russian technology companies and startups in the UAE.

The event will witness a discussion of ways to develop investment cooperation with the participation of a group of strategic investors and specialized funds, in a dedicated session entitled “Strategic Joint Investment Dialogue,” hosted by the Investment Majlis platform, with the aim of enhancing constructive dialogue and introducing new tools to support projects.

The session will review the projects and mechanisms proposed to establish a joint investment platform between the UAE and Russia.

The economic program concludes with a panel discussion entitled “Russia and the UAE: Shaping the Future Trade and Logistics System,” with the participation of speakers including: Sergey Sidorov, Deputy General Director for Government and International Relations and Public Relations at DVMB Public Joint Stock Company (FESCO), Rami Jallad, CEO of Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zones (RAKZ), Khalid Al Marzouqi, Vice President for International Business Development at Khalifa Economic Zones – Abu Dhabi, and Vladislav Bakhtenko, CEO of Grand Trade, Nadeem Sultan, Senior Vice President, Cargo Operations and Cargo Planning, Emirates Airlines, Raj Jet Singh Walia, CEO and Managing Director, Central Asia, DP World, and Vladislav Szyk, Executive Vice President, Trade Management, Akron Holdings.

Participants will discuss developing bilateral export corridors and logistics routes, diversifying trade flows, and finding sustainable multimodal solutions.
