Speaker of the Arab Parliament: Protecting and promoting human rights represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development in its comprehensive sense

Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, stressed that protecting and promoting human rights represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development in its comprehensive sense. It is also a basic requirement for the renaissance, stability and cohesion of societies and a strong fence to maintain security and stability as it is a comprehensive system that embodies the values of justice, equality and the rule of law. In December of every year, Al-Yamahi appreciated the efforts of Arab countries in supporting and promoting human rights and consolidating the principles of justice and equality and their keenness to adopt the best practices that keep pace with regional and international developments in a way that preserves the basic rights of their citizens. The Arab Parliament places human rights at the top of its priorities by supporting legislation that protects basic rights and is keen to cooperate with national, regional and international institutions concerned with human rights, as well as supporting initiatives that enhance human security in its comprehensive sense and everything that would achieve the interest of the Arab citizen.
