Global anticipation of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate decision

The Federal Reserve (the US central bank) meets today to decide on interest rates, in a meeting that is likely to be one of the most difficult in years.
The world is awaiting the Federal Reserve’s decision scheduled to be issued later today, as it is expected to cut the interest rate by approximately 25 basis points.
Investors have trimmed expectations of interest rate cuts in 2026 due to ongoing concerns about inflation and expectations of greater resilience in the US economy.
Yesterday’s data showed that job opportunities in the United States increased modestly in October after recording a jump in September.
White House economic advisor Kevin Hassett, the front-runner for the position of Federal Reserve Chairman, told the CEO Council in the Wall Street Journal yesterday that there is “plenty of room” to lower interest rates further.
He added that if inflation rises, the calculations may change.
