The Head of Childhood and Motherhood joins the Foreign Ministry in celebrating International Human Rights Day at the Children’s Cancer Hospital

Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati, President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, participated in the visit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptians Abroad Affairs, in his capacity as Chairman of the Permanent Higher Committee for Human Rights, to Hospital 57357 for the treatment of children’s cancer, on the occasion of the celebration of International Human Rights Day, and in the presence of Dr. Iman Karim, General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, representatives of the relevant ministries and authorities, members of the committee, and a number of representatives of community organizations.

 

 

During her inspection tour inside the hospital, Dr. Sahar Al-Sunbati confirmed that the therapeutic programs and psychological and social support provided to children and their families reflect the integrated efforts of the state and civil society in supporting the child’s right to health and integrated care.

 She added that the Council pays great attention to supporting this right, noting that Hospital 57357 represents a humanitarian experience. And inspiring scientific knowledge, and embodies the child’s right to receive advanced and safe treatment without burdens on his family, in line with the state’s commitment to protecting children and ensuring the best health care for them.

 

During the visit, the audience listened to a detailed presentation by Dr. Sherif Abul Naga, Executive Director of the hospital, about the history of the development of Hospital 57357 and the specialized medical services it provides to patients. 

 

The audience also inspected the hospital’s departments. They reviewed the level of health care provided to sick children, and met a number of children and their families who expressed their appreciation for the great humanitarian and scientific efforts made by the hospital administration and its medical and volunteer staff in providing advanced treatment services free of charge, which reflects the state’s commitment to supporting children’s rights to treatment and a decent life.
