UN Commissioner: We must ensure the protection of civilians in Gaza and investigate what is happening in the Strip

The United Nations Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, stressed today, Wednesday, the necessity of ensuring the protection of civilians in Gaza, and working to investigate the facts of what is happening in the Strip. 

Turk said – in a press conference in Geneva – “Israel is launching intense attacks beyond the yellow line in Gaza and violating the ceasefire agreement.”

He stressed the need to work to strengthen human rights to achieve sustainable peace in Sudan, Ukraine and Gaza, Warning of the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Sudan.

The United Nations Commissioner stressed the importance of working to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, respecting agreements, and laying the foundations for dialogue… noting that the attacks on Ukraine led to daily power outages and the cessation of necessary services. 

He stressed the need to stop hate speech against migrants and deal with them in the context of human rights.
