Palestinian Minister of Local Government: "We have prepared plans to deal with the scale of destruction in Gaza"

Palestinian Minister of Local Government, Sami Hijjawi, said that the ministry has prepared plans to deal with the massive scale of destruction in Gaza. He pointed out that the destruction in the Gaza Strip includes infrastructure, buildings and facilities, including the headquarters of municipalities and government institutions.

The Palestinian Minister of Local Government confirmed – in special statements to the “Cairo” channel; Al-Akhbariya, this evening, Thursday – that the extent of the destruction in the Gaza Strip is enormous and exceeds 90% of the municipalities’ work capacity.

He pointed out that the ministry received waste collection vehicles from Japan, and it remains to be possible to bring that vehicle into the Gaza Strip… indicating at the same time that the restrictions imposed by the occupation prevent dealing with the waste crisis in Gaza.

He revealed that Initial estimates for restoring life to the Gaza Strip exceed $70 billion, indicating that the Palestinian government is steadfast despite the difficult financial situation. On the other hand, the Palestinian Minister of Local Government said that the Israeli government gives the green light to the settlers to carry out their aggression, stressing that despite the repeated Israeli attacks, the Palestinians still cling to their land.
