Under the patronage of Hind Bint Maktoum, the Emirates Food Bank organizes its annual celebration for the year 2025

Dubai, December 12 / WAM / Under the patronage of the wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, Her Highness Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Food Bank Foundation, Supreme Chairwoman of the Emirates Food Bank Foundation, the Emirates Food Bank organized its annual celebration for the year 2025, celebrating a wide selection of its strategic partners, shareholders and volunteers who They formed a fundamental pillar in supporting his career and enhancing the impact of his charitable and humanitarian initiatives.

The ceremony was held in Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai, in the presence of His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Food Bank, members of the Board of Trustees, and representatives of government and semi-government agencies and the private sector, in addition to many volunteer teams and supporting institutions.

The ceremony witnessed the honoring of 67 entities that played a pivotal role in the success of the Bank’s programs and initiatives throughout the year. The honor included 37 entities that obtained the Charitable Endowment Mark, and donor partners from various sectors, and volunteers from individuals, institutions, and volunteer teams, in addition to honoring the previous institutional teams and a number of influencers who contributed to supporting the Bank’s journey and spreading its message. This event embodied the bank’s keenness to establish a culture of giving and sustainability and enhance the system of purposeful partnerships, which are an essential source of continuity of its work and the expansion of its influence inside and outside the country.

His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Food Bank, confirmed that the achievements achieved by the bank during the year are a direct translation of the UAE’s approach to devoting humanitarian work and sponsoring initiatives that raise the status of people, wherever they are, and achieve a decent life for them. He pointed out that the close cooperation between partners and volunteers enabled the bank to expand its operations and achieve tangible results, whether at the level of delivering food to those entitled to it or at the level of reducing waste and supporting environmental sustainability.

His Excellency said: “The combined efforts of all participating parties constituted an honorable model of the values ​​of solidarity and interdependence that characterize the UAE, and we affirm that the Bank will continue to launch initiatives that consolidate its presence as one of the most prominent institutions concerned with preserving food, combating food waste, and enhancing food security.”

For her part, Manal Bin Yarouf, Head of the Executive Team of the Emirates Food Bank, said: “The support of our partners and volunteers represents the core of the success of the Emirates Food Bank’s work system. They are the pillar that enabled us to expand our humanitarian impact and develop our programs and initiatives year after year. During 2025, we were keen to enhance the efficiency of the operations of preserving and distributing surplus food, and to expand the network of cooperation with various parties, ensuring that food reaches its beneficiaries in a safe and sustainable manner. We confirm our continued improvement of work mechanisms.” Activating qualitative partnerships that support the bank’s goals in combating food waste and consolidating the values of giving and social responsibility in the UAE.”

During the ceremony, the bank highlighted a set of results that reflect the extent of the development it witnessed during the year 2025, as the number of beneficiaries of surplus food meals that were provided in cooperation with food institutions reached more than 23 million people, and the value of financial donations received by the bank amounted to about one million one hundred thousand dirhams. During the year, the Bank implemented specialized awareness and educational programs in which more than two million people participated, in addition to 20 initiatives and activities within the annual work plan, which witnessed wide participation from volunteers and donors. The bank also signed 28 cooperation agreements with local, regional and international bodies, aimed at expanding its network and enhancing its ability to reach communities in need. Since its establishment, the bank has succeeded in distributing more than 100 million meals thanks to its strategic partnerships and the expansion of its preservation and distribution operations.

In terms of environmental impact, the bank was able to divert more than 6,275 tons of surplus food from landfill, which is more than 15 million meals, in an achievement that reflects the bank’s commitment to combating food waste, reducing carbon emissions, and supporting national sustainability efforts. These results were the culmination of a full year of organized work and various initiatives aimed at enhancing community awareness and consolidating the concept of responsible handling of food.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the list of strategic partners, supporting bodies and volunteer teams that played a pivotal role in enhancing the bank’s presence and implementing its programs to the fullest was announced, with an emphasis on continuing to work in a one-team spirit to advance the bank’s mission and expand its humanitarian impact in the coming years.
