Ras Al Khaimah Transport launches classic taxi service
Ras Al Khaimah, 12 December / WAM / The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority today launched the classic taxi service with the aim of transporting tourists on a journey through time by going through an experience that reflects the methods of transportation of fathers and grandfathers, and enables them to examine the features of the past and live its details in a way that combines authenticity and classic character, thus enhancing the heritage and tourism identity of the emirate.
The service comes within the framework of the Authority’s plans aimed at developing the transportation system and enhancing the transportation options available to customers, in line with the emirate’s trends in supporting the tourism sector and providing quality services that meet the needs of visitors and residents.
The vehicles will begin their work within specific routes that include movement within Al Marjan Island and linking it to Al Qawasim Corniche in both directions, in addition to operating a route extending along Al Qawasim Corniche. This will contribute to strengthening communication between the most prominent tourist and entertainment destinations in the emirate, and providing a unique transportation experience with a distinctive heritage character.
The authority also set daily operating hours from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm, allowing visitors to enjoy upscale tours within an atmosphere consistent with the visual identity of the service and its touristic nature.
His Excellency Engineer Ismail Hassan Al Balushi, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, confirmed that the launch of the new service comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to enhance the transportation system and provide diverse and flexible options that suit the various needs of customers, and that classic taxis will constitute a qualitative addition that reflects the cultural character of the emirate and contribute to enhancing its tourist attractiveness.
