A 5.1 magnitude earthquake strikes western Indonesia

An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the city of Bengkulu, west of SumatraIndonesian.

Reported The US Geological Survey said that the epicenter of the earthquake occurred at a depth of 54 kilometers.

There have been no reports so far of human casualties or material damage as a result of the earthquake.

Indonesia is located on the Pacific Ocean belt known as "Ring of fire"where many tectonic plates meet; Which causes frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
