"Guterres"We must work to enhance dialogue and respect for international law to achieve sustainable peace

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, stressed the need to work to strengthen dialogue and respect for international law to achieve sustainable peace.
Guterres said, in his speech, before the United Nations Forum for the Alliance of Civilizations in Riyadh, in the presence of the Saudi Foreign Minister, today, Sunday, that" The world has two paths: Either man lives in more wars and has less trust for humanity, or has the courage to take steps towards dialogue and alliance, so that the world becomes a better place in light of respect for international law.".
He added that building bridges for peace and prosperity is not difficult in order to promote sustainable peace, pointing out that achieving peace will end the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza, and will ensure that what happened on October 7 will not be repeated.
He pointed out that 20 years ago an initiative was launched to strengthen humanity, consolidate cooperation, and listen to others, stressing that this message is more urgent now than ever before, to evaluate diplomatic efforts and provide access for humanitarian aid.
Guterres called for moving forward with courage and clarity in order to achieve humanity, explaining that young people are discovering their common dreams, pushing digital innovation and wanting to achieve human rights.
The United Nations Forum for the Alliance of Civilizations includes a meeting of the Group of Friends of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, and highlights young people participating in the alliance’s programs. It also includes specialized sessions on artificial intelligence-driven disinformation.
