Russia tops the World Elite Boxing Championship medal table

Dubai, December 14 / WAM / Russia topped the medal table at the conclusion of the 23rd edition of the World Elite Boxing Championship for Men “UAE 2025”, which was hosted by Dubai under the supervision of the International Boxing Federation (IBA), after its boxers won 13 colored medals, 7 gold, 5 silver and one bronze.
The tournament, which is considered a historic edition with unprecedented financial prizes amounting to 8 million US dollars, witnessed the participation of 118 countries and more than 500 athletes from around the world.
Kazakhstan came in second place with 6 medals, including 3 gold, one silver, and two bronze, followed by Uzbekistan with a total of 9 medals, two gold, four silver, and three bronze, while Azerbaijan won the last gold medal, raising its tally to 3 medals, one gold and two bronze.
Russian boxers topped the overall standings at the conclusion of the competitions held yesterday, which witnessed 13 final bouts, during which financial prizes were distributed for each category, at $300,000 for first place, $150,000 for second place, and $75,000 for third place, with 50% for the boxer, 25% for the coaches, and 25% for the National Federation.
Emirati champion Hamza Chimaev, who won the world middleweight title in the UFC, participated alongside a number of boxing legends, most notably Artur Beterbiev, in crowning the gold medal winners during the final bouts.
