The head of health oversight discusses cooperation in quality with the health delegation of the Republic of Namibia

Dr. Ahmed Taha, President of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control, received today a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Health and Social Services of the Republic of Namibia, as part of the program of the delegation’s official visit to Egypt, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in the fields of health care quality and accreditation between the two brotherly countries.
During the meeting, the head of the Authority gave a presentation on Egypt’s experience in establishing a system National Accreditation and Monitoring of Health Facilities, and the Authority’s role in setting and updating internationally accredited quality standards from the International Society for Healthcare Quality (ISQua), explaining the latest versions of the accreditation standards for hospitals and primary care centers, and efforts to support the readiness of health facilities to apply the standards, obtain accreditation, and raise the efficiency of services provided to citizens.
Dr. Ahmed Taha stressed that the success of the comprehensive health insurance system in Egypt is based on a strong political will and a clear national vision that places citizens’ health at the top of development priorities. Sustainable, stressing that supporting our African brothers and exchanging experiences with them in the field of accreditation and quality has become a fundamental focus of the Authority’s agenda, which reflects Egypt’s regional role in strengthening health care systems on the continent level. standards, while enhancing the culture of quality among citizens, families and service providers, noting that this transformation requires a continuous institutional and societal effort to ensure its sustainability.
