Israeli Opposition Leader: Netanyahu is a disgrace to Israel throughout the world

Today, Monday, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid launched a sharp attack on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, describing him as a disgrace to Israel throughout the world.

 

This came in a statement to “Yair Lapid”, after the Speaker of the Israeli Knesset, Amir Ohana, accompanied the Speaker of the Paraguayan House of Representatives, Raul Latorre, to the District Court in Tel Aviv for a meeting. Netanyahu, who appears before it in corruption cases.

 

Before the session, the court rejected Netanyahu’s request to cancel his appearance on the pretext that he was busy with meetings with foreign officials, and was content only with shortening the duration of the session, while video clips showed him shaking hands with the Speaker of the Paraguayan Parliament inside the corridors of the court.

Netanyahu faces corruption charges in three files that could lead to his imprisonment if he is convicted, and he has previously filed charges. By requesting a pardon to Israeli President Isaac Herzog without deciding his fate yet.

In a blog post on the (X) platform, Lapid criticized the presence of the Speaker of the Paraguayan Parliament in court, describing the matter as a “shame,” accusing Ohana of implicating Latorre in Netanyahu’s trial, stressing that this behavior harms Israel’s reputation globally.
