Officially… Sharjah Club signs a contract with Portuguese Jose Moraes

Sharjah Football Club Company announced its contract with Portuguese coach Jose Moraes to coach the first team with a contract that extends during the remainder of the current season 2025-2026, and the next season 2026-2027.

The new Sharjah coach has a distinguished CV and extensive training experience with many European clubs, working as an assistant to Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho in training clubs, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Chelsea, in addition to his technical leadership of Arab, Asian and African clubs, namely Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab and Al-Hazm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Esperance of Tunisia, Al-Wahda of the Emirates, and Jeonbuk Hewandai of South Korea and Sepahan of Iran.

Moraes succeeded in winning 6 titles in his career, winning the league and cup titles with Jeonbuk Hyundai in 2019 and 2020, and winning the Saudi League shield with Al Hilal in 2021, and before that he won the Saudi Super Cup with Al-Shabab in 2015, and finally won the Iran Cup with Sepahan in 2024.

For his part, Ibrahim Saleh Sembig, member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Club and Chairman of the Football Company, expressed his happiness with the completion of the contract with Portuguese coach Jose Moraes, and his hopes that this step will contribute to supporting the team’s stability in accordance with the club’s plans and future vision.

Sembig revealed in a press statement that the contract with Moraes was carried out in accordance with the controls that the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club is keen on in view of the interest of the club, and in full compliance with professional standards in the process of negotiating and drafting contracts, denying malicious and irresponsible rumors about the method of bringing in the new Sharjah coach, as the head of the Sharjah Company stressed that the negotiation with Moraes took place after the coach ended his relationship with his former club and became available to receive offers and contract with any other club.
