"Arabic ladies" Its eighth edition will be launched in Sharjah next February 2

Sharjah, December 18 / WAM / Under the patronage of the wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, the activities of the eighth edition of the “Arab Women’s Club Games” will be held from the 2nd to the 10th of next February in the Emirate of Sharjah, organized by the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation, one of the institutions of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, with the participation of an elite group of Arab players and clubs from various sports.

As part of the administrative preparations for organizing the tournament, which is supervised by the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees and approved by the League of Arab States, the Supreme Organizing Committee and the Executive Committees held a series of meetings to discuss developments and readiness to receive the female athletes and organize the competitions. The committee also revealed new updates in the competition program for the eighth edition, the most notable of which is the addition of the two sports of Taekwondo approved and classified by the International Taekwondo Federation with the “G1” classification, which is considered one of the high international classifications, in addition to the sport of beach paddling, for the first time within the Games. It was approved to include the list of main games open for competition: volleyball, fencing, athletics, archery, bow and arrow, table tennis, and basketball, in addition to the two new sports. This diversity comes within the framework of the tournament’s keenness to expand the base of women’s participation and enhance sports and cultural communication among Arab female players.

Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, said that the Arab Women’s Club Games established a pioneering model in empowering Arab women athletically and enhancing their presence and role in the sports community. It became a platform that celebrates the achievements of female players and supports their path towards professionalism and fair competition. It also contributed to expanding the presence of Arab women on the sports scene and developing their talents and abilities to compete.

He added that the committee adopts an integrated strategic vision based on the support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and the guidance and care of his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, Chairwoman of the Sharjah Family and Community Council, based on strengthening coordination between partner agencies in the emirate to ensure the readiness of various organizational, logistical, health and security aspects and providing an integrated competitive environment for female athletes and clubs participating in the tournament’s competitions, with the aim of presenting a version that elevates Sharjah’s status and supports The presence of Arab women’s sports on the global sports scene.

As part of monitoring the field readiness of the facilities that will host the training and competitions, the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Games organized today an inspection tour for the delegation of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees, headed by Sheikha Hayat Al Khalifa, Chairwoman of the Supervision and Follow-up Committee in the Union, and His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Enezi, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Olympic Committees, in the presence of His Excellency Hanan Al-Mahmoud, Vice-Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee and Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Areej Ali Al-Qahtani from the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Olympic Committees, Mustafa. Idris, the sports expert at the Union of Committees, and Moza Mohammed Al Shamsi, the course director, to review the readiness of sports sites, facilities, and supporting services.

The visits included meetings with representatives of the clubs’ boards of directors, including chairmen and members of committees, who confirmed their readiness to provide their comprehensive support for the success of the session.

The tour included a visit to the facilities that host tournament competitions and training in the cities and regions of the emirate, which are: Sharjah Olympic Center for Women’s Sports, Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, Children’s Center in Al-Qarayen, Al-Bataeh Cultural Sports Club, Al-Dhaid Cultural Sports Club, Police Officers Club, Al-Hamriyah Cultural Sports Club, Khor Fakkan Club for the Disabled, and Al-Thiqa Club for the Disabled.

This tournament witnesses the addition of taekwondo and beach rowing competitions within the framework of developing the sports program and diversifying the approved competitions.
