The campaign, which was launched yesterday, will continue for a month, with the aim of enhancing community awareness of safety practices while refueling at gas stations, especially among desert bike and vehicle drivers, and reducing unsafe behaviors that may pose a danger to individuals and property.
The campaign focuses on consolidating the concepts of prevention and adherence to approved safety procedures inside gas stations, by publishing direct awareness messages through digital channels and social media platforms, in addition to the informational screens belonging to the campaign partners at gas stations and on federal roads, which contributes to raising the level of compliance with instructions, enhancing the culture of safety, and protecting lives.
The campaign includes a set of basic awareness messages, the most prominent of which is the emphasis on the necessity of turning off the engine of the vehicle or desert bike before starting the refueling process, not sitting on the bike while filling up, adhering to correct standing and securely securing the vehicle or bike, and fully adhering to approved safety instructions and instructions inside gas stations. The messages also urge avoiding using a mobile phone while refueling, and ensuring adherence to safe behaviors in the vicinity of the station, in order to ensure the safety of everyone.
The campaign aims to establish a culture of individual responsibility among vehicle and desert bike drivers, reduce accidents related to unsafe practices while refueling, and promote positive behaviors, in line with national trends in the field of safety, and supports the goals of quality of life in the UAE.
His Excellency Engineer Sherif Al Olama, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, confirmed that the national winter traffic safety campaign reflects the commitment of various stakeholders to strengthen the safety system at gas stations, through direct and influential awareness messages that contribute to correcting behaviors, raising the level of community awareness, and establishing a firm conviction that safety is a shared responsibility that requires everyone’s cooperation.
