With patience and continuity, Sharjah will come back stronger

Sharjah Club coach, Portuguese Jose Moraes, confirmed that his team needs time, patience and continuity in work, in order to return to the winning path strongly, after the period in which the team was absent from achieving positive results.
In response to a question about what Sharjah needs to regain its balance, Moraes said that the players worked very hard during the three days preceding the confrontation with Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, the day before yesterday, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League for Elite Clubs, indicating that there was a noticeable development in the team’s performance.
Morais described Sharjah’s next confrontation against Shabab Al-Ahly, next Saturday, in the Super Cup, as a “good challenge” for the team, especially after the loss to Al-Hilal, stressing at the same time his happiness at working for the Sharjah Club.
Moraes told Emirates Al-Youm: “I am happy to work at Sharjah Club, because I find myself with people who work and struggle for life, and this is my way too. I am fighting for my life, and that is why I am here.” He added: “Very soon we will delight the fans of Sharjah.”
The Sharjah coach confirmed that the team still has chances of qualifying for the next round of the AFC Champions League, despite the loss to Al Hilal, stressing that the team is moving in the right direction. He said: “I understand the path we are on and where we must reach, and I have seen interesting things, especially in terms of performance development.”
Morais considered that the Sharjah players made a great effort against Al Hilal, despite the short preparation period since he recently took over as coach of the team, stressing that there are many positive aspects that must be built upon during the next stage.
The Sharjah coach thanked the club’s fans for the great support they provided to the team during the Al Hilal match, stressing the importance of this support in the next stage.
Regarding the challenge he faces after moving to work at Sharjah Club from Al Wahda, Moraes explained that he is currently focusing on his work with the team, and studying the changes that can be implemented, noting that he has adapted to the situation in the way he deems appropriate to achieve success.
Al-Sharjah suffered a loss at home to Al-Hilal of Saudi Arabia, with a free goal, yesterday, in the sixth round of the AFC Champions League for the elite, complicating the “King’s” calculations in the race to qualify for the quarter-finals, after its score froze at 7 points, settling for seventh place temporarily, while Al-Hilal continued to lead the group with a full score (18 points).
