Russia: We plan to export 55 million tons of grain until next July


Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev announced today that the demand for Russian grains remains in place even though low global prices are hampering Russian grain exports in the current marketing season.

Patrushev, who supervises the agricultural sector in Russia"Today, we are witnessing a period of decline in global prices. This was reflected in export numbers, however, the trend began to gradually stabilize since last August"

Global markets

The Russian official explained that exports have grown in the past few months after declining during the summer, indicating that Russia can now enhance supplies to global markets when the period of rising prices begins.

He also pointed out that "Russia plans to export between (53) million tons and (55) million tons of grain during the marketing season, which continues until the first of next July."explaining that "Last year, Russia exported 53 million tons of grain, including 44 million tons of wheat".
