Armed men kidnap 28 people in Nigeria, including women and children

Older Armed menin the middle of Nigeria ambushed a vehicle carrying people heading to a religious event, and kidnapped 28 people, including women and children, according to a security report.
The report addressed to the United Nations stated that 28 people, including women and children, were kidnapped by gunmen while they were heading to a religious gathering." near the village of Zak in the Bashar area of Plateau State, adding that the police have opened an investigation into the incident.

This incident comes as part of the latest episode in a series of Mass kidnappings that the country has witnessed in recent weeks, highlighting the deteriorating security situation in Nigeria.
This development came on the same day that the authorities announced their success in releasing 130 students, representing the last batch of more than 250 students who were kidnapped a month ago from their Catholic school in Niger State, north-central of the country.
